The Biography by Barchi Graziosa
Cesare Rossi was born in Brescia on the 17th of december1935, son of Giovanni Rossi and Emma Damiani. He goes to the Primary School ex “Rosa Maltoni” in the via dei Mille and the teacher asks him to read the time on the town-clock “Pallata” which he does with great enthusiasm because clocks delight him and when he grows up he wants to do the same work as his father: repair clocks.
Actually when only nine he already repairs them, disassembles them, cleans them, and reassembles them and during the school holydays riding his bicycle he goes to the different clock and watch makers in the centre of Brescia and asks to repair some and they are all very pleased with the boy, because he is very clever at it.When he has time he also has learnt to build wooden Plane toy that he throws towards the sky trying to imitate the English fighters during World War Two.
His greatest ambition is to make these toy planes fly, but the mechanism of clocks is no help. The war ends and Cesare goes to Moretto technical school, which afterwards became ITIS, but goes to the evening classes because during the day he works with his father, well known watchmaker at the Schreiber jewellers shop of Brescia. He discovers MODEL ACTIVITY at the Bruneri toy shop of old standing. With his father’s help he develops his passion for MICRO-MECHANICS. Cesare goes to the Pace oratory (prestigious Parish church in the the historic city center) that organizes shows with plane models and ancient ships with the help of father Brocchetti and father Bevilacqua. Many youngsters come to the oratory and learn from their little teacher the first elements of Plane MODEL..Meanwhile Cesare goes to the Pace oratory cinema where the fathers let him come in without paying but actually he is rather more interested by the wonderful technical system of reproducing action, than by the actions themselves.
The cinema leads him to his second passion: photography and he learns to develop and print pictures taken at marriages and christenings of friends and relations.
In 1950 Cesare starts taking part in national and international model aircraft contests, he builds the aircraft and he buys: the micro-engines that he has to modify because their speed is not powerful enough, and have other finish defects that impeach their performance. For this skilled watchmaker it was no problem building a new engine thanks to the help of some brescian manufacturers who give him hospitality in their workshops, letting him use their machine tools.In 1960 his father’s shop also sells model-aircrafts and Cesare builds his own company the Model Brixia. A number of his customers from Brescia are from the Pace oratory and later he is contacted by many aero model users from several countries.
In 1959 he won his first WC
In 1966 he closes the shop and founds the Fratelli Rossi at Cellatica , keeping his five years younger brother Ugo along with him.. The workshop expands and engages 25 workers. The engines are exported in USA, in all European countries and Asia. All the engines made by Cesare won the speed.
In 1984 he dissolves the Fratelli Rossi and founds a new firm the Novarossi S.n.c which has now become Novarossi world. S.r.l with his wife Graziosa Barchi.
In 1987 the Novarossi engines win the international RC championship 1:8 on road (20 laps of separation from the second),11 times title that he has won for 20 years running-2011 Miami WC included.
The staff of the workshop in Monticelli Brusati (near Brescia) includes fifty workers.
In 1999 the President of the Italian Republic gives the insignia of Cavaliere dell’Ordine for merit for his constant zeal and engagement.
Today Novarossi S.r.l is a leading industrial company with sixty graduated workers them all specialized thanks to the investment program gets underway at the end of years 1980 from the wife of Rossi Cesar, Grazia Barchi planning an organization in highly automated production systems.
